Manx Mini Meet 2010

A total of eighteen local minis joined the nine that had ventured from all parts of the UK to take part in the first Manx Mini Meet organised by the Manx Mini Register over the weekend of the 25th to 27th June 2010.
The event began with an evening for all participants to get to know each other at Paparazzi Restaurant and the event proper got under way from the TT Grandstand early Saturday morning for a run to Ramsey for lunch at the Lakeside Centre, via Injebreck, Druidale, Andreas and the Point of Ayre.
Several stops were made on the route for photos and for the visitors to admire the stunning views. The afternoon was spent at the Parade Ground in Jurby where participants had to undertake an autotest as well as having to drive an obstacle course whilst blindfolded with the passenger giving directions. This proved to be hilariously entertaining for the spectators with passengers trying to give directions by pointing!
Mary & Ian Sims hosted a barbeque on the Saturday evening for all participants where the prizes for the autotest and quiz were handed out and film of the runs and competitions were shown.
Sunday proved to be especially popular with the visitors as it involved a run round the TT course, followed by a drive to the Sound for lunch and the weekend was rounded off with an excellent meal at the recently opened “Italian Job” restaurant in the Villa Arcade.

The organisers would like to thank Tower Insurance and Mini World for their support of what is likely to be a regular event on the Mini calendar.
