Photograph Gallery – Mini Runs
What a glorious day, it would have been a shame not to take advantage of the weather with our Minis. Fourteen Minis met at the TT Grandstand, after a bit of tinkering and then needing to swop cars Glenn Leece took the lead to take us on some countryside probably most of us hadn't seen before.
After wending our way down to Douglas Promenade we headed for the OLd Castletown Road all the way to the Blackboards, after taking a left there we immediately turn right up Orrisdale Road. Through Silverdale and on up to the Round Table then left at the Mines down the Garey, right at Glen Maye which took us comfortably to Peel Breakwater.
It was obvious by the lack of parking that a lot more people had the same idea, it was "chocker", but good to see evrybody out enjoying the good weather.

After all the Christmas and Boxing Day food and celebrations, we had a brilliant turnout of 15 Minis on the 27th December for an interesting run led by John Tarrant on some roads in and about the centre and west of the island which most of us didn't know existed.
We had a couple casualties, Ian Corkills Mini bellowing smoke out and retired home, John Davies suffering a misfire which cured itself after a blast on open roads, and a couple of cars getting split up and lost to join us again later.
Thanks to John Tarrant for organising it and leading us to Peel swimming pool cafe for a hot drink and plenty of Mini chat.

14 Classic Minis turned out for this run through some very interesting narrows roads to Peel.
In Peel we visited the Transport Museum where Bill Quine was on hand to judge best car, which was won by John Tarrant with his 1962 Surf Blue Austin 997cc Cooper. This is a fine example of an original unrestored car, John won a Auto Glym polishing kit supplied by Auto Electrical Centre in Douglas.
A prize of a bottle of bubbly was won by Roy and Edith Sweetman with their Mini Cooper S Mk3 which was chosen by the other Mini owners.

There were 17 cars on the run.
We left from the top of the TT Grandstand pit lane via Quareterbridge to Ballacraine, we stopped at Bishops Court for some photos and proceeded via Ballaugh where we turned off after the bridge to Jurby via the coast road.
On arrival at the new museum facility we all parked up in line on the grass alongside the museum, as we all arrived Richard Davis was there to greet us, he was delighted to see the grand array of Minis.
The weather was brilliant, warm and sunny, and the museum itself is very good and well worth a visit.

Ten cars took part on this run from Douglas to Peel. The intention was to go via Foxdale, but due to road conditions being bad we kept to the main roads. From the Grandstand we went along the Promenade and Peel Rd out to Ballacraine, where we took the Poortown road into Peel. As the weather picked up we came back via Foxdale.
